You Don’t Have to Carry It All Alone

There’s something I hear often—sometimes said aloud, sometimes unspoken but clearly felt:
“If I don’t hold it all together… everything will fall apart.”
It shows up in the way we take care of everyone else before ourselves. In the way we quietly say “yes” when we mean “no.” In the way we stay strong for others, even when we feel like we’re falling apart inside.
We become the glue. The anchor. The steady one. And over time, that belief, that we have to carry it all, settles deep into the body.
It can show up as fatigue. Anxiety. Shame. Tight shoulders, a clenched jaw, and chronic overwhelm. Even toenails falling off (yes, your body will literally try to lighten the load).
But here’s the truth: You were never meant to carry it all.
You were meant to live, breathe, and receive. To allow support. To co-create your life, not control it out of fear or necessity.
In a recent hypnotherapy session, I guided someone through the process of releasing that very belief. We began by visualizing a warm glowing orb—a simple, safe focus point. We softened the body, layer by layer. And then we gently uncovered all the things she’d been carrying: guilt, pressure, invisible expectations.
One by one, we set them down. We spoke to her subconscious mind in the language it understands, visuals, emotion, and repetition. And we replaced that old story with a new truth:
“I do not have to carry it all alone.”
We imagined her climbing into a raft, lying back, and letting the river of life carry her for a while. Not giving up, just letting go.
Letting go of over-functioning. Letting go of the pressure to be everything. Letting go of the fear that rest makes her weak.
And when she opened her eyes, she said: “I forgot it could feel this easy.”
That’s what I want for you.
XXOO,
Leigh
To remember ease. To feel what it’s like to be supported by life, by others, by yourself. To know that asking for help isn’t weakness—it’s wisdom.
You don’t have to do it all. You just have to take the next step. And if you’re ready, I’ll walk with you.
Let’s lay down what’s heavy. Let’s make space for what’s possible.
You don’t have to carry it all. You never did.
