When the Sh*t Hits the Fan… Maybe Life Isn’t Falling Apart at All

We’ve all had those seasons where everything seems to go wrong at the exact same time. The job shifts. The relationship cracks. The finances wobble. The emotions… well, they stage their own little mutiny.

It’s easy to look at all of it and think, “Great. Everything’s falling apart.”But what if it’s not?

What if this is actually the sound of your life coming together?

I know, it doesn’t always arrive in a pretty box with a bow. Growth rarely does. Sometimes the universe delivers an upgrade by first kicking out the old furniture… and it can feel just a touch chaotic as it’s happening. Like moving houses: boxes everywhere, dust bunnies staging a comeback tour, and for a hot minute, you can’t even find your toothbrush. Yet you’re moving toward something better.

Chaos has a purpose.

When things we depended on start wobbling, it’s usually because they’ve reached their expiration date. Not as punishment, as preparation. Life is clearing space. Life is reshaping the path. Life is nudging you, or sometimes shoving you, into the next chapter you’ve been asking for.

And trust me, I know “trust life” sounds inspirational until you’re in the middle of the tornado. But there’s something powerful about recognizing that your breakdown might actually be your breakthrough in disguise.

Life reorganizes you before it elevates you.

Think about the times something “went wrong” only to reveal itself as exactly what needed to happen:

  • The job that ended… opening space for the one that fit you better.

  • The relationship that shifted… making room for emotional honesty, connection, or your own damn peace.

  • The unexpected financial hit… teaching you resilience, creativity, or a new direction.

  • The emotional unraveling… helping you finally drop what you’ve been white-knuckling for years.

When the sh*t hits the fan, life isn’t punishing you. Life is honest with you. Life is showing you what can no longer come with you, and what’s trying to make its way in.

Your job? Trust the process you’re in.

Trust doesn’t mean loving the discomfort. It doesn’t mean pretending everything is fine. It means recognizing that even when you can’t see the full picture… something deeper is guiding the timing, the rearranging, the clearing.

Your life has never collapsed without eventually rebuilding stronger. You have never faced chaos without also meeting some part of yourself you didn’t know you had: strength, clarity, courage, humor (the “laugh so you don’t cry” kind counts too).

This is the moment to soften, not panic.

Breathe. Allow. Let things shift. Let the old settle out so the new can land. And remember: if everything feels like it’s falling apart, you might just be in the middle of a cosmic remodel.

The dust settles. The clarity comes. And one day soon, you look at your life and think, “Oh… that’s why that had to happen.”

You’re not being broken down. You’re being reassembled.

And life, messy, wild, beautifully timed life, is working for you, not against you.

xxoo,

Leigh
