How Do You Want to Be Remembered?

Yesterday, I attended a celebration of life for the mother of a dear friend. I loved this woman. She was compassionate, loving, generous, and accepting of everyone. She lived the way she wanted the world to live, fearlessly, openly, and with endless giving.
As I listened to her story being told, I realized something powerful: the woman I knew was the same woman everyone else knew. She didn’t wear different masks depending on the audience. She lived true to herself, and that truth echoed in every life she touched. At 50 years old, she even went back to school and earned her master’s degree, proving that it’s never too late to rise higher, dream bigger, and pursue what matters.
And it hit me with full force: How do I want to be remembered? This is not a someday question. This is an every-single-day question. Because the legacy we leave isn’t created at the end of our lives, it’s being built right now in the choices we make, the words we speak, the love we give, and the courage we show.
We have to show up every day with our why. Not when it’s convenient, not when it’s easy, but every day.
I choose love. I choose acceptance. I choose curiosity, and I refuse to choose fear.
The woman we honored yesterday lived her values boldly. And so can we. Her life is a reminder that it’s never too late to begin, to step into who you were meant to be, and to create a story worth remembering.
So I’ll ask you, what will people remember when they speak of you?
Because your legacy isn’t a distant future, it’s written in the way you show up today.
Your Challenge Today: Write down three qualities you want to be remembered for. Then pick one action, just one, that proves those qualities in motion today. Don’t wait. Start living the story you want told.
XXOO,
Leigh
